Westshore Music Academy offers music lessons in guitar, piano, drums, voice, strings, woodwinds, and brass, and we also offer college prep and tutoring in music theory, ear training, sight reading, and more.

Rhythm Guitar & Ukulele Class

Only $40 per month per student!
Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to refresh your skills, this fun and supportive 30-minute class is a great place to start! Students will learn a variety of chords for both guitar and ukulele while exploring different rhythm patterns and strumming techniques. We will focus on building the skills needed to play songs and make music with others.
Perfect for beginners with little to no experience, as well as those looking to rebuild their skills. Students do not need to own a guitar or ukulele to participate—a limited number of instruments will be available to use during class.
Classical Guitar Class
Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.
Instructor: Lindsay Ye
Only $40 per month per student!
Take your guitar playing to the next level in this class designed for students who already have a foundation in note reading and guitar technique. Students will strengthen their ability to read music, develop proper right-hand picking and fingerstyle techniques, and explore music written specifically for the classical guitar.
A special focus will be placed on learning to perform as part of a guitar ensemble, giving students the opportunity to develop important listening, timing, and teamwork skills while creating music together. This class is perfect for students who want to grow beyond basic guitar playing and build confidence performing more traditional and written music.
Prerequisite: Students should be able to read notes and play in first position.
A limited number of classical guitars will be available for students to use during class.

We have qualified and experienced teachers who have college training or major performance experience, along with years of experience teaching students of all ages and musical levels.
Westshore Music Academy provides the students and their families with an environment that encourages musical growth, where students are encouraged to participate in the academy recitals and performance opportunities within the community.
We provide a spacious and family-friendly waiting area with toys and activities for children and free Wi-Fi. We are conveniently located right off US31 between Spring Lake/Grand Haven and Muskegon.
Rates for Private Music Lessons:
$110 per month for a weekly 30-minute private lesson
$162 per month for a weekly 45-minute private lesson
$215 per month for a weekly 60-minute private lesson
